William Orbit

Russells offers sincere condolences on the passing of William Orbit, the pioneering musician, composer and producer whose distinctive sound helped shape electronic and pop music from the 1980s onwards.

Orbit began his career as an electronic musician before establishing himself as a sought-after producer and remixer, working with artists including Madonna, Blur, All Saints and U2. His work with Madonna on Ray of Light earned him two Grammy Awards and brought his innovative approach to a global audience.

Alongside his production work, Orbit developed a successful solo career, exploring electronic, ambient and classical music, including his acclaimed Pieces in a Modern Style album.

He leaves behind an extraordinary legacy as a visionary producer and musician whose work crossed genres and continually pushed musical boundaries.  His creative influence continues to be felt across contemporary music.
