Mark commenced his training contract with Russells in 2021 and qualified into the firm’s Commercial department in 2023.
His career in the entertainment industry started in 2012 when he began working at Levels Entertainment, a record label founded by Alec ‘Twin B’ Boateng and widely respected music manager and lawyer Richard Antwi. Mark then worked at Universal Music Group before returning to work alongside Richard Antwi as an artist manager, and later set up his own management company and managed artists signed to record labels including Atlantic Records and Ninja Tune.
Mark’s growing interest in the contractual side of the business and his passion for helping clients protect their long-term interests led him to return to university to study law, and he now draws upon his practical experience of the music industry to provide commercially driven advice to a broad range of creative talent, entrepreneurs and businesses, including emerging and established artists, songwriters, producers, managers, booking agencies, music publishers and record labels.
“In business, like they say, you don’t get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate.”
