Sara is a solicitor in the Music and Film & TV departments at Russells, with expertise in music licensing matters. Her practice focuses on how music rights are structured, licensed, and monetised across more traditional audiovisual productions and emerging interactive environments (including video games), with particular experience in rights clearance, synchronisation licensing, and cross-border use of music. She specialises in matters at the intersection of music, film, and video games, helping clients navigate both established licensing frameworks and evolving digital environments, while also providing general commercial advice across these areas.
With experience gained both in-house and in private practice, Sara brings a commercially driven approach to deal-making, combining legal expertise with an understanding of how music rights operate in practice across the creative industries. She joined Russells in 2025 from Wiggin, where she trained and qualified, advising on music usage across film and interactive entertainment.
“All the good music has already been written by people with wigs and stuff on.”
– Frank Zappa
