Private Client

Our private client team provides discreet, pragmatic advice to generations of families, unmarried couples, civil partners and individuals with land and property assets both in the UK and internationally.

Our experts can help with the drafting of your Will, and with changing family structures it is even more important that Wills are tailored to protect the family and to prevent disputes arising in the future.

Our typical client base including high profile and high net worth individuals are also able to take advantage of our services in administering estates where we combine our specialist knowledge and years of experience with an understanding and considerate approach. We will help to deal with the formalities of the administration of estates including obtaining Probate if there is a Will or Letters of Administration if there is not.

We are able to create trusts for our clients and deal with their administration, including:

* The provision of advice to trustees and beneficiaries,
* Dealing with the taxation of the trusts whether that be Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax or Inheritance Tax.
* The creation and administration of charitable trusts

Powers of Attorney and Mental Incapacity

It is important to plan ahead for a time when you may need help making decisions.

We regularly create Powers of Attorney which are legal documents whereby one person gives another authority to make decisions on his or her behalf.

Lasting Powers of Attorney are special Powers of Attorney that survive mental incapacity. We are able to advise and assist with the preparation and registration of these documents if you are worried about managing your finances or making decisions in later life.

If someone lacks mental capacity and has not made provision for a Lasting Power of Attorney it may be necessary to appoint a Deputy to manage that person’s affairs. We can help with the completion of the requisite documentation for application to be made to the Court of Protection for the appointment of a Deputy to undertake the business affairs of the individual who is no longer able to do so.
